Extract has three tools for looking after a stylus: a 10x magnifying lens, an anti-static cleaning brush and a pot of cleaning gel. They come in a handcrafted storage box, and Goldring say the kit works with all stylus and cartridge types.

About the Goldring Extract Stylus Cleaning Kit
A stylus picks up dust and fluff every time a record plays, and Goldring recommend checking it daily. Extract gives you what you need to look, brush and, when needed, deep clean, without risking damage to the stylus.
Start with the 10x lens, which has a compact, single-hinge design. For loose dust, draw the anti-static brush gently across the stylus from back to front with as little upward pressure as you can. If sticky deposits remain, use the gel pot: stand it on the platter, lower the stylus onto the gel and lift it off again, repeating if needed.
The gel is formulated to remove stubborn residue without weakening the bond between the stylus and the cantilever. When it gets dirty, rinse the pot under water and let it air dry to refresh it.

Will it work with my cartridge?
Goldring say Extract works with all stylus and cartridge types, moving magnet or moving coil.
How do I use the gel pot?
Put the pot on the platter, lower the stylus gently onto the gel, then lift it off, repeating if needed. The gel is transparent, so you can see the debris it takes off.
How often should I check my stylus?
Goldring recommend a quick daily check with the lens, and a brush whenever you see dry fluff or dust. Use the gel when sticky residue remains.
