Holiday lets and second homes

Questions about smart homes
Do we need to rewire the house?
No. Most retrofits use wireless or battery-powered kit, or modules that sit behind your existing switches. Where a cable really is the better answer, we'll tell you why and keep the mess to a minimum.
What if half the family isn't techy?
Then we design for them. Light switches still work like light switches, the TV still has one remote, and the clever stuff happens in the background. The app is a bonus, not a requirement.
KNX, Loxone or Control4: which should we choose?
It depends on the house, the budget and how much you want to change later. We install and support all three, so we've no reason to push one. We'll explain the trade-offs in plain English and let you choose.
Can we start small and add to it?
Yes. Plenty of people start with one room, or just the Wi-Fi and a video doorbell, and add more later. We plan the first step so it doesn't block the next one.
What happens if the internet goes down?
With the systems we install, lights, heating and keypads keep working because they run locally. You lose remote access and voice assistants until the internet's back, not the house.
Do you do holiday lets and second homes?
Yes. Smart locks, heating that warms up before guests arrive, and alerts if something's wrong while you're miles away. We can link some booking systems to the house so it gets ready by itself.
