About the Goldring Elite Moving Coil Cartridge
Goldring call the Elite their ultra high-performance low-output moving coil. It gathers the company’s long-standing design habits: advanced magnetic circuitry with a neodymium magnet, an ultra-rigid Pocan body, and a Swedish iron armature wound by hand with pure silver wire, which Goldring say gives much higher definition than standard cartridge construction.
The Gyger S stylus is a nude natural diamond with a line-contact shape that Goldring designed to resemble the record cutting head. Each Elite is hand-built and individually adjusted for azimuth and compliance, and the cartridge weighs just 5.5 g.
Output is 0.6 mV, so you will need a phono stage or amplifier with a moving coil input. Goldring say it suits all low to medium-mass tonearms, and recommend an effective mass of 5–20 g.

Questions about the Goldring Elite Moving Coil Cartridge
Is it sold as a pair?
No. It is one cartridge, which is all a turntable needs: it plays both stereo channels.
Will it work with my moving magnet phono input?
No. At 0.6 mV it is a low-output cartridge and needs a phono stage or amplifier with a moving coil input.
Which tonearms suit it?
Goldring say it is compatible with all low to medium-mass tonearms and recommend an effective mass of 5–20 g. Tell us your deck and tonearm and we will check.
Can I change the stylus when it wears?
Not yourself. Goldring offer an exchange scheme for worn moving coil cartridges, and a repair and re-tip service.
