Goldring E2 Moving Magnet Cartridge
The E1’s spherical stylus on a stiffer, lighter aluminium cantilever.
£79.00
The E2 keeps the 0.6 mil spherical stylus of the E1 but moves to an aluminium cantilever, which is stiff and light and helps the stylus follow mid and high frequencies with more detail. Green stylus carrier; sold as a single cartridge.

About the Goldring E2 Moving Magnet Cartridge
Where the E1 has a carbon-fibre cantilever, the E2 has aluminium. Goldring say this lets the stylus trace medium and high frequencies more accurately, with more detail and less distortion or mistracking in loud passages.
It shares the E Series generator: Magnetic Duplex Technology, with two angled magnets that mirror the geometry of the cutting head, and azimuth that is adjusted in production so the cartridge can go straight onto a typical turntable.
The E2 suits the same budget and mid-priced decks as the rest of the range, and it is a sensible middle step if the E1 feels too basic and the E3 is more than you need. Connect it to an MM or phono input.
Genuine UK stock from an authorised Goldring dealer. Not sure which cartridge suits your turntable? Tell us the deck and tonearm and we will suggest one. See our audio and video work.

Questions about the Goldring E2 Moving Magnet Cartridge
Is it sold as a pair?
No. It is one cartridge, which is all a turntable needs: it plays both stereo channels.
What is the difference between the E1 and E2?
The stylus is the same bonded spherical type. The E2 has an aluminium cantilever in place of the E1’s carbon-fibre one, and Goldring say that gives more detail at medium and high frequencies.
Which input do I connect it to?
It is a moving magnet cartridge, so connect it to the MM or “phono” input of your amplifier or phono stage. Goldring advise using that input only.
Will it fit my tonearm?
Goldring list a standard 12.7 mm (0.5 in) fixing centre, which is the usual spacing on most headshells and tonearms. Tell us your deck and tonearm and we will confirm it fits.
