About the QED Performance XT25 Speaker Cable (Pair)
X-Tube first appeared in QED’s Silver Anniversary XT in 2005. XT25 gives it a new twist by blending it with QED’s Aircore design, which helps with the proximity effect as well as the skin effect. Ten bunches of fine strands sit around a hollow core, so current spreads evenly across the conductor from bass to treble.
It is part of QED’s Performance range and has a slim 3.96 mm jacket, so it is easy to run behind furniture. The jacket is low-loss polyethylene with an aluminium Mylar wrap, which QED choose in preference to PVC.
Use it between an amplifier or AV receiver and a pair of speakers. Measure the run, allow a little slack, and choose the next length up. The Audiophile Man gave XT25 a Deeply Groovy award.
