About the Q Acoustics 3050i Floorstanding Speakers (Pair)

The 3000i is one of Q Acoustics’ core ranges: slim, well-braced cabinets, a 22 mm decoupled tweeter and low-profile terminals that let speakers sit close to a wall. The 3050i is the floorstander, and it borrows design ideas from the Concept 500.

Inside, Point to Point bracing stiffens the cabinet and an HPE (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser) tube evens out pressure inside the tall box, which cuts the cabinet resonance that tall speakers tend to suffer from. The terminal panel has no large cut-out, which keeps the cabinet stiffer.

They fill a medium or large room with stereo on their own, and they are the front pair in the 3050i 5.1 home cinema pack.

Is the price for a pair?

Yes. The box holds two 3050i speakers, two stabilisers, two grilles, two foam bungs, eight spikes, four fixing screws and a user manual.

Do they need a subwoofer?

Not necessarily. Twin 165 mm drivers take them down to 44 Hz (-6 dB). For home cinema, the 3060S subwoofer is the matching option in the 3000i range.

What amplifier power do they suit?

Q Acoustics recommends a stereo amplifier of 25 to 100 W.
