About the Grado GW100x Wireless Open-Back Headphones
The GW100x is Grado’s wireless range, the follow-up to the GW100, which Grado calls the first open-back Bluetooth headphone. It has fourth-generation X drivers tuned for wireless use, a newer Bluetooth chipset and a more efficient battery, and it charges over USB-C.
Grado redesigned the housings to cut sound escaping from the cups, by up to 60% compared with its wired headphones, but this is still an open-back design. A built-in microphone and controls on the ear cup handle calls, volume and playback, and the voice assistant if your phone supports it.
It is still open-back, so you hear your surroundings and people nearby may hear faint sound from the cups. That suits walks in quiet places and working at home.
