About the QED Reference High Resolution USB Cable (A to B)
This updated Reference cable has a slimmer, more flexible profile than the one it replaces. The data lane is a 24 AWG, 99.999% oxygen-free copper twisted pair in a foamed polyethylene dielectric. Its impedance is held to 90Ω plus or minus 5%, with a rise time of just 100 picoseconds on a 3 m cable, which QED say keeps jitter in the audio data stream low.
QED’s Clean Path Audio design isolates the data lane with a double-layer shield, so power and noise from a computer stay out of the audio data. A floating Zn/Mn ferrite jacket absorbs high-frequency noise, and QED report 50% less jitter than a comparable cable without it.
It sits in QED’s Reference range. Use it from a computer, laptop, network drive or music server to a DAC or headphone amp with a USB B socket.
