About the WiiM Amp Ultra

WiiM's flagship all-in-one streaming amplifier, built to power passive bookshelf, floorstanding, in-wall or outdoor speakers directly. It pairs a 100 W-per-channel class-D amp with the Ultra's touchscreen interface, HDMI ARC for TV sound and a subwoofer output. Passive cooling keeps it silent, and it can act as the front end of a WiiM 5.1 setup.

Questions about the WiiM Amp Ultra

Is the Amp Ultra powerful enough for floorstanding speakers?

WiiM rates it at 100 W per channel into 8 ohms and 200 W into 4 ohms, with a supported range of 2 to 8 ohms, so it is designed to drive most passive bookshelf and tower speakers.

Can it play sound from my TV?

Yes, through HDMI ARC or optical. It handles stereo PCM and Dolby Digital; DTS is not supported, so set the TV's audio output accordingly.

Can I build a surround system around it?

Yes. Your passive speakers become the front pair, then you can add a subwoofer and compatible WiiM devices (such as WiiM Sound or Sound Lite) as centre and surround channels for a 5.1 setup.
