About the Q Acoustics M40 Powered Micro-Tower Speakers (Pair)

The M40 is a pair of 71 cm micro-towers with the amplifier built in, so you do not need extra boxes. The powered speaker holds the 2 x 100 W amplifier, the inputs and the Bluetooth receiver, and the supplied cable connects it to the passive speaker.

Each speaker has two 125 mm mid/bass drivers and a 22 mm decoupled tweeter, with HPE tuning to reduce standing waves and Point to Point bracing. Bluetooth 5.0 supports aptX, aptX HD, aptX Low Latency, SBC and AAC.

Inputs are analogue RCA, a 3.5 mm jack, optical and USB, plus a subwoofer output. For a turntable, use one with a built-in preamp.

What do I get for the price?

A pair: one powered M40 and one passive M40, a remote handset with batteries, a 4 m speaker cable, UK and EU power cords, two foam bungs, spikes, covers, stabilisers and screws, and a user manual.

Do I need an amplifier?

No. The powered speaker has the amplifier built in and drives the passive one through the supplied cable.

Can I connect a turntable?

Q Acoustics describes the M40 as working with a pre-amplified turntable, meaning one with a built-in phono preamp. A turntable without one needs a separate phono preamp.

Can I add a subwoofer?

Yes, there is a subwoofer output.
