Studio 89 takes its looks from Monitor Audio’s 1980s Studio speakers and its technology from today: the MPD III high-frequency transducer, RDT III C-CAM drivers and rhodium-plated terminals.

What Hi-Fi? gave Studio 89 five stars, and TechRadar an Editor’s Choice award.

On rigid stands with the tweeters at ear height, standmounts give the clearest, most focused stereo picture, and they take up far less room than floorstanders.

Is the price for one speaker or a pair?

A pair. The Studio 89 is sold as a pair.

What amplifier do I need?

Monitor Audio recommend 50 - 300 W. The Roksan Caspian 4G Integrated or Streaming Amplifier is a lovely match. Not sure? Tell us your room and we’ll suggest a pairing.

Do I need stands?

For the best sound, yes: a rigid stand puts the tweeter at ear height. Monitor Audio make a dedicated Studio 89 Stand, and Blok Axis stands also suit.
