About the QED Performance Optical Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable
Plain copper HDMI cables struggle to hold a 48 Gb/s signal beyond about 3 m. This one swaps four of its nineteen copper cores for optical fibre, which is not affected by the losses and crosstalk that limit copper over distance. It runs without an external power supply.
It supports 8K at 60Hz (4:2:0, uncompressed), compressed video up to 10K at 120Hz, eARC, HDCP 2.2, CEC and HDR. It is backward compatible with HDMI 2.0 and 1.4b. Connectors are zinc alloy, and the ends are marked Source and Display, so there is a right way round.
The jacket is low smoke zero halogen and meets Reaction to Fire Class CCA-s1,d0, so it can be hidden inside a building’s structure. It is part of QED’s Performance range. Use it for projectors, long TV runs and installs.

Does it need power?
No. It is plug and play, with no external power supply.
Does it matter which end goes where?
Yes. The connectors are marked Source and Display, so connect the Source end to your player or receiver and the Display end to the TV or projector.
Which length should I choose?
It comes in 7.5 m, 10 m, 12 m, 15 m and 20 m. Measure the route and choose the next length up. For shorter runs, a standard Ultra High Speed cable is enough.
