About the PRE35 / PRE35 DAC / PRE35 Prisma Modular Preamplifier
The PRE35 is built for systems with a separate power amplifier. Its circuit is fully balanced from input to output, with two pairs of XLR inputs, three RCA pairs, and both XLR and RCA preamp outputs, so it can drive two power amplifiers for bi-amping.
It is modular in the same way as the I25 and I35. The DM36 module adds optical, coaxial and USB inputs with decoding up to PCM 384 kHz and DSD256. The SM35 module adds Prisma streaming, Roon Ready and multi-room. Either can be fitted later.
Its natural partner is the A35.2 stereo power amplifier, or a pair of them in bridged mono for very demanding speakers.

Questions about the PRE35 / PRE35 DAC / PRE35 Prisma Modular Preamplifier
Do I need a power amplifier with it?
Yes. The PRE35 is a preamplifier and does not drive speakers by itself. The A35.2 is the matching Primare power amplifier, but any power amplifier with XLR or RCA inputs will work.
Can I add the DAC or streaming module later?
Yes. The PRE35 is modular. The DM36 DAC module and the SM35 Prisma streaming module can be fitted later, so you can start with the analogue version and upgrade when you are ready. Ask us and we will quote for the module and fitting.
Can I bi-amp with it?
Yes. It has two sets of XLR outputs, so it can feed two stereo power amplifiers at once.
Is there a price difference between black and titanium?
No. Both finishes cost the same and the electronics inside are identical. Titanium is a brushed silver-grey front panel; black suits darker furniture and racks.
