About the NP5 Prisma MK2 Network Streamer

The NP5 is the simplest way into Primare’s Prisma streaming platform. It has no DAC of its own: it sends a clean digital signal over coaxial or optical to a converter you already own, so the sound is shaped by the DAC you chose. Prisma is Primare’s own streaming platform: AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth and Roon Ready, plus multi-room playback and the Prisma app for control and for playing music from network drives.

The MK2 update kept the original’s features and added DSD over PCM output with Roon and MQA passthrough to a compatible DAC. Output sample rate is selectable (48, 96 or 192 kHz, or native). It also has an RS232 port, and the included cable lets the Prisma app control volume, mute, power and input on older Primare amplifiers with RS232.

At 143 mm wide and half a kilo, it tucks away behind a system, beside a TV, or on a shelf. It is a good fit for an existing hi-fi with a DAC or a CD player with digital inputs, or for adding a streamed zone to a multi-room setup.
