About the CD15 Prisma CD and Network Player
The CD15 Prisma sits in Primare’s 15 series, the three-quarter-width range built to look and work well together. Inside is a Philips slot-load CD drive, an AKM AK4490 DAC and a tuned analogue output stage, plus the Prisma streaming module. Prisma is Primare’s own streaming platform: AirPlay 2, Chromecast built-in, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth and Roon Ready, plus multi-room playback and the Prisma app for control and for playing music from network drives.
There is a USB input for drives, and coaxial and optical outputs if you want to use an outboard DAC. In fixed output mode it feeds any amplifier. Switch to variable output and it can drive a pair of active speakers directly, making a small complete system.
It pairs naturally with an I15 or I15 MM amplifier. If you only need a CD transport for an existing DAC, the DD15 is the drive-only version of this player.

Questions about the CD15 Prisma CD and Network Player
Does it come with a remote?
Primare lists the C25 IR system remote for control of the CD15 Prisma, and the Prisma app runs on your phone or tablet.
Can I connect it straight to active speakers?
Yes. Set the output to variable and it controls the volume itself, so a pair of active speakers is all you need.
What is the difference between the CD15 Prisma and the DD15?
The CD15 Prisma has a DAC, analogue outputs and streaming. The DD15 is a CD transport with digital outputs only, for use with a separate DAC.
