About the SB-5000 Subwoofer

The 5000 series takes the technology SVS developed for its flagship 17-Ultra R|Evolution subwoofers and puts it into smaller cabinets. SVS sells it in the US as the SB-5000 R|Evolution; the UK list calls it the SB-5000.

The 15-inch driver has a 3-inch dual voice coil, each half fed by one side of a 2,000-watt continuous dual-mono Class D amplifier (5,000 watts peak). A 295 MHz DSP and a switch-mode power supply keep it composed at very high levels, while the sealed cabinet keeps the bass tight.

Set-up is through the SVS app, including Auto EQ room calibration. The rear panel has an OLED display, RCA and balanced XLR inputs, a trigger and an IR input.

Genuine UK stock from an authorised SVS dealer. Not sure which subwoofer or speaker suits your room? Tell us the size of the space and what you listen to, and we will help you choose. We install hi-fi and home cinema across the New Forest and the south coast. See our audio and video work.

Questions about the SB-5000 Subwoofer

Is it sold singly?

Yes, the price is for one subwoofer. Many people run two for smoother bass across the room; ask us about a matched pair.

Is this the SB-5000 R|Evolution?

Yes. It is the current 15-inch sealed model with the 2,000-watt dual-mono amplifier and 295 MHz DSP, which SVS calls the SB-5000 R|Evolution in the US.

What does Auto EQ need?

Just the SVS Subwoofer Control app on your phone. It can measure with the phone’s own microphone, or with the optional SVS Auto EQ Mic for more consistent results.

How heavy is it?

It weighs 46.3 kg unboxed, so it is a two-person lift. Plan where it will go before it arrives.
