About the SVS PB17-Ultra Subwoofer

The 17-Ultra R|Evolution models are SVS’s flagship subwoofers, and the PB17-Ultra is the ported one: the deepest and loudest sub SVS makes, for large dedicated cinemas.

It shares the SB17-Ultra’s 17-inch, 8-inch dual-voice-coil driver and Sledge STA-2800D amplifier (2,800 watts continuous, 6,000 watts plus peak), in a cabinet with three 4-inch high-flow ports. Ports open, it reaches 14 Hz; with two ports blocked (Extended mode), 12 Hz; fully sealed, 14 to 320 Hz.

SVS Auto EQ, a rear OLED display, RCA and balanced XLR connections, a trigger and an IR input are built in. Finished in real black oak veneer or piano gloss black.

Genuine UK stock from an authorised SVS dealer. Not sure which subwoofer or speaker suits your room? Tell us the size of the space and what you listen to, and we will help you choose. We install hi-fi and home cinema across the New Forest and the south coast. See our audio and video work.

Questions about the SVS PB17-Ultra Subwoofer

Is it sold singly?

Yes, the price is for one subwoofer. Many people run two for smoother bass across the room; ask us about a matched pair.

Is this the PB17-Ultra R|Evolution?

Yes. The UK list calls it the PB17-Ultra; SVS’s own name is PB17-Ultra R|Evolution. Both finishes are the same price.

Do I need port bungs?

Only if you want to use the PB17-Ultra in its sealed (or extended) mode, which blocks some or all of the ports. Port bungs are available; ask us when you order and we will add them.

How big is it?

About 64 cm high, 55 cm wide and 74 cm deep with the grille, and 74.7 kg. Check doorways and stairs before ordering. We can help with placement and set-up locally.
